A total 251 public entities submitted their financial statements under the 2025 International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS) Financial Statements Review Programme, which is designed to upskill public sector finance professionals, and enhance transparency, accountability, and comparability.
“The submission rate surged to 91 percent in 2025, up from 66 from the previous year,” the Finance and Economic Development ministry said on X.
“A total of 251 public entities submitted their financial statements, compared to just 188 last year,” the ministry said.
This year marks Zimbabwe’s first time of IPSAS compliance.
“The findings will now inform the ongoing refinement of the Zimbabwe Financial Reporting Manual and future Treasury guidance,” the Mthuli Ncube-led ministry said.
