The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has lowered the price of fuel to US$1.99 per litre for diesel (50) and US$1.98 for blend (E20) after the fall in global oil prices following the US-Iran ceasefire agreement.
Oil prices have plummeted by roughly 30 percent to 36 percent from their mid-crisis peaks, and have dropped more than 15 percent in the immediate aftermath of the initial US-Iran peace agreements.
Zera said the new fuel prices will be valid for a fortnight.
โThe petroleum prices are effective from 19 June 2026 for a period of two weeks,โ the energy regulator said, adding that โgovernment interventions continue to cushion consumers from the impact of global geopolitical developmentsโ.
At the height of the Middle East crisis, diesel was retailing at US$2.09 per litre, while blended petrol (E20) was pegged at US$2.08 per litre.
